Tiffin services in Hyderabad: three different things, one word
The lady in your building who sends up a dabba, an app connecting you to home chefs across the city, and a company delivering a published menu on a fixed route are all called a tiffin service. They cost differently, fail differently, and suit completely different people. Sorting that out is most of the decision.

The three kinds, and what each really costs
Monthly figures are for one meal a day, which is how tiffin is normally sold.

If the local dabba works for you, it is genuinely hard to beat on price and we would not try to talk you out of it. The case for everything else on this page is consistency, knowing what is coming, and getting your money back on the days you do not eat.

If you want a company rather than an arrangement

Nuggit — the formal end of tiffin
A chef-cooked, home-style vegetarian lunch delivered in a fixed 12–2 PM window across 15 Hyderabad localities, cooked the same morning in FSSAI-certified kitchens. The month's menu is published, so you know Wednesday's lunch on Monday.
₹2,700–4,160 for 26 lunches — ₹90–200 a meal by pack size, no fees of any kind, and a skipped day refunded in full if you skip before 9 PM.
The catch: Dearer than a neighbourhood dabba, lunch only, pure vegetarian, and ₹5,000 to start. If price is the only axis that matters, the dabba wins and we would rather you knew that from us.

Better than us at: You get food from a home kitchen, and a choice of which one — closer to actual home cooking than a professional kitchen cooking at scale can be.
Where we differ: One FSSAI-certified partner kitchen cooking a planned menu to a recipe and a portion spec. Less personal; more consistent, and the reason a month rarely repeats a main.

Home chefs, tiffin and catering, with genuine regional range — Bengali, Rajasthani, Gujarati and Jain among them.
Better than us at: Regional cuisines we simply do not cook. If you want Bengali food specifically, or Jain food prepared properly, this is a real answer and we are not.
Where we differ: A North and South Indian home-style rotation, published a month ahead so you can see what is coming rather than choose every day.

Better than us at: Diet-specific eating. If you are training to a macro target or eating to a medical constraint, a plan built around that beats a general home-style menu.

How much does a tiffin service cost in Hyderabad?
Depends which of the three kinds you mean. A neighbourhood dabba runs roughly ₹2,500–4,000 a month for one meal a day and is usually the cheapest thing available. Home-chef platforms sit higher. Meal subscriptions run ₹90–200 a meal depending on how much you buy at once. The cheapest is almost always the local dabba — the trade is consistency and recourse.
What should I check before paying for a month?
Taste it first, and never pay a full month before you have. Then ask three questions people skip: what happens on days you do not eat, whether the kitchen is FSSAI-registered, and who you call when it does not arrive. The first is where the real monthly cost hides.
Is a tiffin service cheaper than cooking?
On money alone, usually not — groceries for one person come in under most tiffin rates. On money plus time it is not close, once you count shopping, cooking and cleaning at roughly an hour a day. The honest comparison is against what you actually do on a Wednesday, which for most people is ordering in at about ₹260.
